ATC 2026 Brings Advanced Communication Technologies from Around the World to Quy Nhon

ATC 2026 takes place from 15 to 17 October in Quy Nhon, presenting 160 papers on advanced communication technologies selected from 280 submissions by author teams from 19 countries and territories.

The International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Communications 2026 (ATC 2026) runs for three days, from 15 to 17 October, at the International Centre for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE) in Quy Nhon Nam Ward, Gia Lai Province.

The conference is co-organized by the Radio and Electronics Association of Vietnam (REV) and the IEEE Communications Society (IEEE ComSoc) and hosted by Quy Nhon University. It brings together scientists, lecturers, engineers and experts in electronics, telecommunications and information technology from Vietnam and abroad.

Established in 2008, the International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Communications (ATC) has developed over nearly two decades into one of Vietnam’s most respected scientific forums in electronics, communications and information technology. According to Dr. Tran Duc Lai, President of the Radio and Electronics Association of Vietnam (REV), the conference has built lasting connections between Vietnamese scientists and their international colleagues and has created opportunities for cooperation in research and training.

Quy Nhon previously hosted ATC in 2017. Nine years later, ATC 2026 brings Vietnamese and international researchers back to the coastal city, which is known for its natural landscape and its expanding role in science and education in Vietnam.

ATC 2026 Accepts 57.1% of Submissions after Peer Review

The ATC 2026 Organizing Committee received 280 papers involving 1,068 author contributions from 19 countries and territories across Asia-Pacific, Europe and North America. Contributing authors came from countries including Japan, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Korea, India, the United States, France, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Canada, Belgium, Germany, the United Kingdom and Australia.

Following the scientific peer-review process, the Organizing Committee accepted 160 papers, an acceptance rate of 57.1%, while 120 papers were not selected. The accepted papers involve 705 author contributions from 18 countries and territories.

The 160 accepted papers, representing 57.1% of the 280 submissions, average 4.4 author contributions per paper, compared with 3.8 across all submissions. Of the 1,068 author contributions in the initial submissions, 705, or 66%, belong to accepted papers.

Authors from Europe recorded an acceptance rate above the conference average. Of the 36 European author contributions, 31 appear in accepted papers, a rate of 86.1%, which raised the European share of authorship from 3.4% among submissions to 4.4% among accepted papers. All 160 papers will be published in the conference proceedings, and each will be assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI).

Artificial Intelligence and 5G/6G Networks Feature Prominently at ATC 2026

Over three days, ATC 2026 features five keynote speeches, 17 regular sessions and seven special sessions, with papers covering 38 technical topics across 10 technical tracks. Signal, image and video processing; wireless communications; automation, robotics and control; and deep learning for communication systems are the four areas with the strongest presence, reflecting the research community’s interest in communication technologies and artificial intelligence applications.

Discussions focus on artificial intelligence in next-generation wireless information systems, intelligent and secure communication networks, electronics and integrated circuits, antennas and propagation, microwave engineering, satellite communications, and technologies for intelligent transportation and smart cities. The special sessions on AI-integrated 5G/6G communication systems and on technologies for transportation and smart cities highlight the interdisciplinary nature of the research and open pathways for applying scientific results to real-world systems and services.

The five keynote speakers at ATC 2026 are Prof. Nauman Aslam (Northumbria University, United Kingdom), Prof. Chanon Warisarn (King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, Thailand), Dr. Khanh D. Pham (U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory), Prof. Kwok Wa Leung (City University of Hong Kong) and Prof. Hiroo Sekiya (Chiba University, Japan). Their talks address intelligent and secure future wireless networks, AI-based detection, satellite communications, dielectric resonator antennas, and AI-enabled wireless power transfer.

ATC 2026 Links Research to Strategic Technologies under Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW

In 2026, REV has called on its scientists and members to focus on the research and development of strategic technologies, in line with Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation. Dr. Tran Duc Lai noted that electronics, telecommunications and information technology lie at the heart of this national strategy and expressed confidence that the research presented at ATC 2026 will make practical contributions to Vietnam’s efforts to master strategic technologies and accelerate digital transformation.

By hosting ATC 2026, Quy Nhon University enables its lecturers, researchers and students to engage with emerging technology trends and to expand cooperation with research institutions and partners in Vietnam and abroad. Looking toward 2030, the university has identified improving training quality, strengthening scientific research, fostering innovation and expanding international cooperation as its key priorities, with a focus on artificial intelligence, semiconductor technology, digital technology and renewable energy.

The Organizing Committee expects the scientific sessions and networking activities at ATC 2026 to promote knowledge exchange, foster joint research ideas and strengthen collaboration among universities, research institutes and technology experts, while introducing the academic environment and the image of Quy Nhon and Gia Lai to the international community.
